Recently innaugurated to be one of the main cultural anchors of the reconstructed port area (Porto Maravilha), the MAR (Museu de Arte do Rio) is an integrated space dedicated to art, education and history. It is comprised of two restored historic buildings, completely different in style from each other, connected by a walkway. The harmony between these buildings was made possible thanks to the “fluid” rooftop that reminds one of sea waves and from where there are stunning views of the center and port.
The last floor is dedicated to the city of Rio and always houses exhibits dedicated to this theme. The other three pavillions house exhibits of varied themes.
